Cali’s Books

Based in Los Angeles, Cali’s Books is a publishing house dedicated to introducing young children to the joyous world of words and music. Cali, the founder, is a mom of young children who trained as an engineer and worked in investment banking and at Disney. The Cali’s Books family has grown and now includes friends and family from around the world! We are a human sized company and look forward to getting to know you.

“I’ve loved books since childhood and wanted to transmit this enthusiasm to my children,” says Cali, founder. “I’m especially fond of the musical board books I found in France, my home country. These have embedded sound buttons that babies and children push to hear songs and musical tunes. I wanted to offer the same pleasure to children in the English-speaking world. I’m also thrilled that Cali’s Books is something I can share with my children.”

Cali was a guest on Episode 19 of the Adventures with Grammy podcast.

Today, Usborne Books & More distributes books through thousands of independent consultants who sell directly to the consumer via home shows, direct sales, book fairs, and web sites.

Usborne and Kane Miller books are the most exciting, engaging, and educational books on the market today. They are high-quality, innovative, lavishly-illustrated, and best of all, they are the books kids love to read. Choose from over 1,800 bright, colorful, and fun titles covering a wide variety of subjects.

Little Egg Publishing

Little Egg Publishing produces children’s books and adult books that you will fall in love with. At Little Egg Publishing, we believe that children stories, children’s books and young adult books are a crucial part of childhood, and must be present during the important early developmental years. Rather than focus entirely on writing stories that children may enjoy reading or being read, Judy Laufer‘s creativity adds ways to help readers deal with life events that some may find difficult, such as the passing of a loved one (Where did papa go?)

Judy was a guest on Episode 11 of the Adventures with Grammy podcast.

Goldest Karat Publishing

Crystal Swain-Bates is a celebrated children’s book author and the owner of Goldest Karat Publishing, which she founded to address the lack of diversity in children’s literature. Her mission is to reshape in a positive way how children of color see themselves.

Her book “Big Hair, Don’t Care is one of Amazon’s most highly reviewed black children’s books and was named by the Huffington post as one of “21 Children’s Books Every Black Kid Should Read.”

A native of Atlanta, GA, Crystal holds a master degree in international affairs from Florida State University and is an avid world traveler. She is the author of 15 children’s books, including Super Mommy, which is a tribute to her mother.
